Hearthside Update

In less than two weeks, Harvest will be hosting Hearthside as training for our staff. Since the retreat is designed for a small group of twenty, registration filled up quickly. The two-day retreat centers on place -- how to help students tap into the personality of the learning environment. Ironically, like-minded thinkers are coming from North Carolina, Tennessee, Ohio, Texas, and Canada to see how we connect to our location in Summerton, SC -- the living books we read written by South Carolina authors, the in-town walks where the kids see the changes wrought by Hurricane Matthew and the October 2015 flooding and the Swamp Fox murals, and the weekly visits to the wildlife refuge. Many of the attendees are considering starting Charlotte Mason schools themselves!
