An Appetite for Knowledge
The mind needs a steady diet of well-written books on a wide variety of topics.
Oral lectures, textbooks, and worksheets prepared by teachers rob students of the opportunity to think.
The mind will remember when allowed to observe, think, and share what is known.
Children observe by reading, listening to a read aloud, or attending with their senses.
Children think by processing what they observe, making connections, and asking their own questions.
Children share by retelling, reenacting, drawing, building, writing, playing, devising experiments, creating, etc.
The mind is a living thing.
It feeds on ideas.
It will starve without them.
The fount of great ideas is heaven.
A steady diet of them yields
A mind awakened to awe and wonder.
Think clear...
