Update: Ms. Tammy has a new Algebra lesson due Thursday: Chapter 7 Lesson 5.
Last Wednesday, the governor announced that school buildings will remain closed for the remainder of the school year. While we are very sad to not bring our students back together for the the final push of the school year, we agree that school from home is the safest route for our school family.
We understand how difficult this is and we are here for you! Most of all we have a loving Savior that cares for us and wants good for each of us. He will provide everything we need as we face these final few weeks of school from home.
Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Do the best you can; your children will find successes and be prepared for the upcoming school year. We are in this together and we will be here for you every step of the way. We are doing our best to offer more support, communicating through Myschoolworx and the current lesson links page. We will continue to use Zoom meetings to enhance the living books, narrations, notebooks, and riches. Some of our math students are using Khan Academy and Splash. We still encourage you to do the morning meeting and Bible readings as a daily liturgy for your family as well as the weekly riches.
1st-12th Daily Bible Readings for All Classes (Daily)
This week we will read from the Song of Ascents. One way to read them is antiphonally: alternate who reads the verse, back and forth, verse by verse. Within each verse, each idea is repeated in a different way. While walking to Jerusalem, a city on a hill, for special festivals, the Jews would recite these psalms. Since psalms are poems, you can imagine people singing them as they walked. Rather than narrate, ponder them and let the words sing to your heart during the day.
K-6th Morning Time for Elementary and Below (Daily)
1st-12th The Feast for All Classes (Weekly)
All teachers in elementary and below are planning their own lessons and sending them to you except for Ms. Terri's which are below. The plans of Middle and High teachers are as follows.

Ms. Angie's Lessons
- Duolingo is due for high school Spanish students and grades are posted in Myschoolworx.
- Instead of studying a memory verse, high school Bible students must turn in one written narration of a Bible reading from this week. Send the narration to Ms. Angie by text, private message, email, or on Myschoolworx.
Ms. Tammy's Lessons
- Students in middle and high have the option to do picture and composer study through Zoom. They can continue working on their own and sending in written narrations or they can attend one of three Zoom gatherings: Mon at 2:00, Tue at 1:00, or Thu at 1:00. (All my meetings have the same ID: 407 964 9249. I will send a link and the same password right before the meeting begins.)
- Middle and high school students can get extra credit or make up Feast work by watching the following Khan Academy videos about Giotto's frescos in the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4 and writing a narration of what interested them. Send a picture of the narration to Ms. Tammy by text or Myschoolworx.
- Middle and high school students can get Feast extra credit by writing a letter or drawing pictures to go to friends at Lake Marion or Windsor Manor or by any kind of art project or skillful work involving the hands. Send a picture to Ms. Tammy by text or Myschoolworx.
