Summer
Reading

Summer vacation is here at last! We all have worked very hard to get to this point and now is the time to play and rest and reflect. Our teachers have sent home summer reading lists. We have three convenient ways to access these books:
  • Some public domain books are available for free at established websites like Gutenberg.
  • Some books are available for free at Internet Archive but there is usually a long waiting list and check out times are limited to 14 days. This organization has waved these limits for the time being because of the pandemic.
  • We have found links to free books whenever possible as well as books to purchase. We have posted Amazon Affiliate links to make ordering books easy. Sometimes, different versions of a book exists--well formatted or endless text with no pages or chapters--abridged, unabridged, retold. By clicking our links you will save yourself time and trouble, knowing you purchased the right book.
A special recommendation for all students is Squanto by Feenie Ziner. It is what we call a unicorn book: out-of-print and so wonderful that it lists for $1,000 new at Amazon! Any Harvester who loves The Indians of New Jersey will want to read this book before the vault closes and the tediously long waiting list resumes. Squanto is Ms. Tammy's first summer read! What's yours?
