Every morning students in elementary and below gather for a Bible devotion and singing. We learn and sing classic hymns sprinkled with a few modern tunes. We draw from a wide variety of musical styles with the hope that the students will be able to sing a joyful noise in any church setting. We also sing folk songs to bridge the distance to their grandparents and minister to our friends at Lake Marion. Folk songs are written by ordinary people to express their thoughts and feeling about everyday life. Every culture has their own set of folk songs and children have a right to be immersed in the legacy of this lively music.
This year we have set up a playlist on Youtube of the music we are using and we have posted PDFs of the lyrics in case you want to know what your children are singing in the car.
